Sounds right. I got one of them 4x4 ex mil Titans at auction recently and were told their job when in air crash mod were to get there quick and lay it on quick. Certainly makes fer a great paddock hoon mobile with the big tires and the music of the auto jimmy out the back.

7000 gallons a minute is probably correct. I was told in the days of Jumbo Jets, that if the cannon could not completely cover the plane with foam in 90 seconds, there was no point trying.

An old mate (ex airport fire service) told me of a fire at I think Shepherds bridge Footscray late 60s? Fuel tanker, set fire to bitumen roadway and all. Apparently MFB either didn't have foam, or had run out, but they called for an appliance from Essendon airport. Passenger in the Nubian recalled that their escort vehicle (coppers in a Stude Lark) couldn't shake them off down Pascoe Vale rd, with an ashen faced copper in the back seat watching them through the rear window - right on their bumper. Fire went out pretty quick when they got there.
