Nothing new in the world

La Jamais Contente (English: The Never Satisfied) was the first road vehicle to go over 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph). It was a Belgian electric vehicle with a light-alloy torpedo-shaped bodywork and batteries. The high position of the driver and the exposed chassis underneath spoiled much of the aerodynamics.[2] The light alloy, called partinium, is an alloy of aluminium, tungsten and magnesium.[3]

The land speed record was established on April 29 or May 1, 1899 at Achères, Yvelines near Paris, France. The vehicle had two direct-drive Postel-Vinay 25 kW motors, running at 200 V and drawing 124 A each,[1][4] for about 68 hp total, and was equipped with Michelin tires. Chassis number was n°25.

Shame the extension lead pulled out of the socket - it would have gone much faster!

Yes we do need to get back on topic

Jay Leno has a baker electric car, google it, its on youtube

Bugger it, I have done it

Well worth a look if I havent already shared it here it is, if I have, have another look

I remeber watching a documentary years ago about Rockefeller and it mentioned electric cars back in the day

Anyway oils main use before cars was refrigeration and lighting, when cars came along this all changed
Now the way I recall it was that Edison and Rockefeller made a deal as they got sick of ccompeteing with each other and the deal was Edison gets lighting and refrigeration and Rockerfeller gets cars and transport
And thats why we have electric lighting and refrioration and petrol cars today

I may not have that 100% correct but thats how I remember it

Since the other one got locked as it really belongs there I'll chuck it here

I found it interesting, shows how far things that are predicted can be off were they actually end up
The fella mentions 1 or 2 years, turned out to be 50 years till batteries got real good and range and speed was increased

A great look all the same
