That’s a bit harsh john ... if the 2 stroke Detroits made a different noise they’d be piled ten high at the tip , American oil pump , brother in law had a 475 horsepower 92 , every time you put the boot into it it bleed oil every where out of it , having said that it’s like having a car with a lumpy cam , awesome sound

Thanks V8Ian. There was a cream 6x4 KM Beddy with a tray at Yarra Glen a cuppla years ago that had a Cummins and goins. The first l knew about them fitted with them. Would this have been one of these V8's??

All the small V8 Cummins motors were pretty close to being junk.......the 185 was notorious,and you simply couldnt sell a truck with a 185 in it..........The last of them was the 555 ,supposedly 225hp,but IH derated it to 190 and called it the VT 190.....we had one in a 1950acco,traded it after a short time on the new 1950c which had the Blue Star DT 466......a strange motor which had zero low end guts......claimed by IH to be "California Smoke Rated".......apart from that ,a fantastic lasting motor,and the 1984 truck is still going today ,I bought it for the sandblasters in 2006.
