That was a very common “bullbar “ setup around that era, many blitz wagons and other ex army trucks had them.

hayseed about TNT name; following the huge expansion of the company during the 50's K.W. Thomas changed its name to Thomas National Transport in 1958. The name was registered in each of the States but the Australian federal government lodged an objection claiming that the word national could gave an impression that the company was government-owned. After many meetings a compromise was reached on the name Thomas Nationwide Transport. Unfortunately, by this time, many of the company properties and a grat deal of Equipment had already been repainted Thomas National Transport. Because of the cost, the company took a very long time to make the corrections.

I am more than happy with Austin, and Bedford, plus C being for Commer - they're all British after all, just like me (even though I have spent 80%+ of my life in Australia) :blink:
PS I am still working on it, just not so vocal of late . . .
