Definitely a 48 Chev. FX Holden grille bars are vertical and narrow, Chevs are horizontal and wide. Even if no grille you can easily tell it’s a Chev. 1948 Chev had vertical centre grille bar added to discern from 47. First car on the right is a 1936 Pontiac sloper. I’m guessing location is city bound about 1k before Missenden rd.

My guess:
Tourer is Morris followed by Vauxhall. Parked facing camera: possibly Pontiac then Chev

Coming up the road, double decker bus, Morris 10, Vauxhall, and a French origin tourer closest to camera.

I don't think it is a Morris at all. My first thought was Standard (before the merger with Vanguard) but it could be one of the small manufacturers that died fairly early.

I agree with Lang I think the car immediately in front of the double decker bus is an Austin from the 1940's.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I still think Morris 10 in front of the double decker, I don’t think the first car is an early Morris because a Morris Cowley, which this era was has the radiator parallel top to bottom whereas the French cars of the era were all fatter at the base. Plus windscreen is different, headlights are lower and front axle different. BISTBC.

There are some interesting deductions so far.
Two more which should be easy: the black car beside the bus in the second view. I can't see any portholes, so have abandoned Buick. Could it be a Plymouth?
The panel van in the third view. Ford Thames? Commer (the model before the very bulbous one)?

Overnite

The Morris of the late 20's and early 30's was bodied locally. I am sure Holden's did many of them so there could well be some minor differences from UK pictures. An Austin of the period also has a square radiator but very distinctive much wider surround.

I am still leaning that way being unable to closely match any European machine at this stage. Every one I have looked at has a rounder nose ie FIAT, Citroen etc
