Old Atkinson Identification

Regarding the Atkinson dating. The only info off the windscreen is "Triplex", Toughened, with an Asterix under the word toughened and the letter "F'.

Not much to go on. The owner has stripped the panels off the cab so not sure any photos will be of much use. The cab has been pressure cleaned so may be able to check the engine number.
Thanks for all the input. Dave.

There is a Gardner list online somewhere that gives number by month........I copied down all the Gardners I have ,which range from 1946 to 1964.

Look for a dot above T,R,E,X which gives the quarter of the year and look for a dot (or asterix) under one of the letters of "toughened" and this gives the year of the decade. No dot is 19x2.
The F letter I can't explain.
Is the radiator an old fashioned alloy one or the more modern style behind a grille?
Amongst the complications are that the code changed after 1969 and again in the 1980's. If your screens are tinted they are "Sundym" and use a different code again.
Check all the windows in case some are different.

I checked my old vic rego records, all atkinson chassis numbers are front left.... no further detail, the number will be preceded by 2 or 3 letters. .the letter difference seems to be axle configuration.

When l got my chassis number tacked back to the build records it showed the single drive prime mover was sent out in a batch of x10 trucks without engine fitted.
Gardner engines were fitted locally in Australia.
