Eaton #3 ratios was created by Kruizin
Hi all, I've been searching unsuccessfully for a list of Eaton #3 diff ratios.
In particular in hoping to find something with a 6.16 LOW ratio and work out what it came out in so I can locate one for a project.
TIA

I dont think you can do this with a #3.....the internal reduction is 1.5 ,I think, and this means a gear ratio of around 4.13........I have done this with the Army ACCO 4x4,where the front diff is 7.17,and then a #3 rear with 5.14 gears will suit, with a low of 7.15.....this is a good match.......I have an Eaton axle parts book somewhere, but cant find it........You could do it with a #4,where a wider range of gears is available.......and parts are still available new.

Incidentally ,for a 6.2 ,you need 7/43 gears ,a very common pommy truck ratio..........the common IH 1820 ratio is 6.5.......Im pretty sure ther is a 7/43 centre in the yard ,probably stuffed ,as its been lying in the dirt for years...........I cut out the bronze planetary pins, and use the bronze for bushes and such.........bronze bar is incredibly expensive .
