What if the rear wheels castored on kingpins? They wouldn't have to turn far, to relieve scrubbing on a wide spread as such.
IIRC, Haulmark(?) were experimenting with such a set-up, fiftyish years ago, on a float.

V8ian could be onto something milk tankers trialled tankers a few years ago that had the back axle of the tri steering on a kingpin arrangement worked well as far as stopping the tri chewing up the track where they turned sharp but the maintenance on them was horrendous
Cost way more than what they saved in tyre scrubbing

That's exactly how they Work Ian. Biggest issue I've found is you have to Have them perfectly straight before reversing. as whatever angle the rear wheels are once you start reversing is where they stay..
Exactly Bluey.. It's cheaper to replace It with a Normal Axle than It Is to rebuild...!!

A little bit more thinking, yes to much time to think I know
So if this trailer has a steerable axle how come when I look at in a picture turning a corner and quite a sharp bend at that the trailer axle or axles aren't twisted at least a little bit ?
I'm not saying it isnt steerable but rather I just dont understand the added information provided by someone else
I also might add that I have asked for more detail from this person and so far I have heard nothing

It may have been reversed into that pose, Paul, in which case the axle would be locked straight.

I could of been but the tyre markes on the ground would to me suggest it was driven around forward for the photo
It doesn't really matter and always took the photo at face value until other people questioned it and then I started thinking about it
