I don't remember much of when I lived in Lake Cargelligo as I was too young, but we had a long drop. it scared me, that's about all I remember.
I do remember my Primary School in Sydney had cans but at home we had a chocolate wheel toilet. When you closed the lid a disc rotated and a blade scrapped the crap off and it went into a pit that was emptied about every 4-5 years. We thought we were superior as the Dunny man didn't come to our place..

Grannie had one of those, never seen or heard or seen of another one, seem to have been a good thing and I can assure you grannie only had the best.

My job on the farm soon as old enough to dig a hole and carry the can. Dad built a septic system when I was about 15, thankfully.
Job for the older lads at Primary School until a septic system built in 1957.

Good shot of a 1946 GMC (horizontal grille bars and GMC logo hubcaps) like the one I am working on at the moment. Interesting that it has the spare on the right side. My body has a reinforcing patch for the bracket on the left but just a blank because it also has the standard Chevrolet spare tyre carrier under the rear.

Fageol were sold to Peterbilt. The name was used into the 50's for special units.

Here is a Fageol converted to a rail motor in South Australia,
