I read something about them years ago, all I remember is that the name was pronounced Fad-jol.

Morris.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

This is interesting. looks like a fairly new vehicle but there is no lining in the rear body?. As far as I can see from mine that lining forms part of the rigid structure? Probably why all those dents in the rear quarter are there from rolling around and hitting the outer skin.

Two gas bag  Chevrolet utes in wartime Sydney. The white painted bumbers and strips were wartime  regulation requirements for vehicles parked outside between sunset and sunrise.

Car in background is a 1941 Dodge sedan,  most of these models went into RAAF service. The Dodge has a white painted bumber bar. Car parked on the left is a Austin tourer ?

Looks like electric car range anxiety is nothing new. The bloke in the last photo would be starting to stress whether he was going to make it home to the warehouse with each delivery stop as he saw his gas bag disappearing.

At least with town gas as a vehicle fuel you could carry a hose and connect into a nearby gas stove and top up your vehicle's gas bag. These are State Library NSW pics.

@Lang, you need a more optimistic outlook mate. At least he has a better chance of getting in a Woolies underground carpark. ;-)

Reading the wartime Australian newspapers there are some reports about gas bag vehicles. Sadly, a driver was killed when a gust of wind toppled his gas bag  truck over.

Not sure what re-oiled means ?
