Yes Lang, I was indeed thinking of my Drizabone!....and yes, it does leak. I've not found anywhere to get it resealed.

You will never make a Drizabone waterproof. they are made for poncing around at horseshows.
RM Williams gave us their top of the line coats for the Peking to Paris expedition. Within 30 seconds in driving rain (no windscreen) we were sitting in a pool of water. we called them Wetazasponges. Because the ABC insisted on authentic vintage look we had to wear a rubbish bag with armholes in it under the Drizabones. Non-filming days a $5 plastic raincoat from a Siberian village store kept us perfectly dry.and kept the wind out which a Drizabone also fails at.

Jarrod at most boot and workwear shops you can buy a few different coatings to rub into your Drizabone and reseal it, do it when they are new and you need to do it every year, not as waterproof as plastic but a hundred times better to work in, there is a New Zealand version that is the better than the China copies we end up with here and better than Drizabone.

I figure you should have a look at Goretex as it solves every problem of lightweight, breathable, genuinely waterproof - touring motor cycle jackets prove that.. Hanging on to Drizabones is suffering for fashion to my mind. If Captain Cook's blokes could have swapped their Drizabones (oil skins) for Goretex they would have jumped at it.
I remember those black rubberised canvas raincoats that weighed a ton when I was little - absolutely 100% waterproof.

Concur with Lang that the truck is an Albion.
In the UK Barbour Jackets are the farmers/fashion version as seen in TV crime and drama, and Belstaff made the bike jackets - need to wax them up until they verge on generating an aura protecting your personal space in crowded areas.

I've had the Drizabone since the 80's. When digging drainage ditches in heavy rain, it at least keeps me warm, if not dry.
I did have a Belstaff jacket way back. Went to replace it after it wore out - could not buy another. Dririder jackets worked better, anyway.
Still have the last one somewhere......(stopped riding 15 years ago)
