In the beginning of this clip,  Wartime Melbourne stores film , it showed a couple of Brockway prime mover trucks. Since I was born, raised, and learned to drive on them, about 35 miles from where they were built I am curious as to how many arrived Down Under???

No idea how many came to Australia sorry, but there is a 1927 C-cab / tray top style, Brockway truck in our local museum.  It was sold new from agent in Adelaide, (Sth Aust.), to local farmers.

The newspaper adverts for Brockway trucks in Australia,  peaked in the early 1930s era.
Coggins was a dealership in NSW, seems to be the main seller of Brockway trucks at the time.

US imports were effectively stopped by ''Empire Preference'' laws that came in around 1933 /34..........although according to complaints by Alfred Harman to the ''Age'' newspaper ,that didnt stop the State Electric Comission from importing costly US made Bucyrus excavators.

Were Brockways made in Canada? ....that was the usual method of tariff reduction used by US makers in that era.....GM,Ford ,Dodge all had Canadian plants........IH and White had local assembly plants.

Brockway got into financial strife about 1928 and merged with Indiana. Not much in the way of records survive from the pre war years. The hard rubber trucks of 5 & 7 ton rating usually composed of Continental engine, Brown Lipe gearbox (some two stick) and Timken axles. Quite a few sold in the early 20's of which maybe half a dozen survive.
Brocky if you come across cylinders for a Continental L5 motor let me know (long story).
