Nice old banger.Looks pretty solid.On the LH chassis rail usually over the front axle you should find the c/n stamped on the rail.Should be six digits and on Briggs cab Comets
as yours is,the first two digits will be the year of manufacture.Your type of Comet made from 1947-58.Type CO (Comet Oil engine).From 1948 they became ECO.
If you are lucky there will be a brass Chassis Plate (about 6x6 inches) rivetted to the chassis in the same location.That will have the c/n at the top,the original engine type and number and diff ratio/s on it.On very rare (in my experience) occassions the model designation is on the plate too.In the absence of all else you can establish the model from a combination of the chassis no. and the wheelbase.Let us know how you get on..............
