From memory Prospect SA was the place to register your trucks at....cheaper rego than NSW and no questions asked.
99 out of a 100 "foreign trucks" were registered at an accountants place of business at :- 1,Sandstone Avenue,Naracoorte,South Australia.
You needed to be registered in S.A. as a business and have a minimum of $2 shares in that business.
Cheers.

YEP SAILOR V
I would like a dollar for every truck that had #1 Sandstone Avenue, Narracoorte, SA on the door. It was set up by some legal type fella and was real popular with all the Victorian trucking companies. Around the mid 70"s there was an investigation into the address and John L Synan was supposed to have blown the lid of the whole thing according to some of the newspaper reports.

Ah, so that is the story. Maybe SA law was a bit slack in this this regard but the cheaper rego would have played a big part.
