AECs and Albions

Series of photographs showing an AEC Mammoth Major 6 Mk.II type O366/20, or Mammoth Major 6 Mk.III type 3671. Would have 9.6 litre 125 horsepower A206-MK.II or A216-MK.III motor. The truck has a tandem worm drive bogie on 4 spring suspension. I think this might be a Mark II MM6, because the Mark IIIs had air brakes and the earlier models had servo assisted hydraulic brakes, and it doesn't look like it has air brakes. Hastings Deering built cab, truck supplied to Peters' American Delicacy Company.

The AEC s would be mkll for which the spec was the 7.7 litre motor. The Monarch was the light weight 4x2 while the mammoth major would have a joey behind the 4 speed and some might have had an interim 8.6 litre motor.
Was the cab Hastings Deering at that date? (most likely1949 but could be earlier)
Fantastic pictures

Most of the old Pommy cabovers had that sort of cab access, often without even step rings on the front wheel. I used to drive a Mk III AEC Mandator and we didn't even think about the access problem, clambering in and out of the cab was just the way things were "back in the day".
