The milk tanker photo has been taken on Eastern Beach road just west of the actual Eastern Beach swimming pool area. Lots of trucks, buses & car photo's were taken there. The Eastern Beach "Speed Trials" were held on that roadway for many years, reputed to have been started by the late Murray Rainey, & held again late last year after a layoff of many years. cheers Tim ;)

Mobil Oil AEC V8 Mandator model 2VTG4R7E-would have AVM8/801 motor rated at 272 horsepower, AEC D251 10 speed splitter gearbox or possibly Fuller RTO913. The AEC V8 was pretty much a disaster and most of these trucks sold in N.Z. would have been repowered with AV760 or GM 6.71 or 6V71 engines. These second series V8 models had the cab raised 5 inches and a much smaller engine hump than an AV760 powered TG4R Mandator.

Grace Brothers, Brisbane-Albion Victor FT39AN Furniture Pantechnicon. This van is built on a Victor bus chassis, would have an Albion EN286 75 horsepower 4 cylinder diesel engine.

If this works I'll eat my hat, but here goes.

I can't believe it . It really does work.

How did we drive things like this in these appalling conditions?

I have titled this photo Mammouth Major Driver's Lounge. ::) :(

Now I have the gist of this I will put a few more up from time to time here and there.

Onya, Hi Beam ... you done good!!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] When you stick the photos up on photobucket it appears there initially as a small picture. If you click on the small picture you get a bigger image of the size you uploaded. Click on the 'IMG' code to the right, and paste this in your post like you did with this one. Bingo ... a bigger piccie!! ;)

PS ... we want a photo of you eating your hat!! ;D ;D
