CAB OVER WHITE ( The angry ant )

Does anyone in the Sydney NSW area remember the unusual cabover White ( very round shape) named "the angry ant" that used to pull a bogie trailer out of the quarries arond Sydney circa late 60s early 70s. Was a very nice looking, well kept unit. Also around the same era was an LNT 9000 Louie that had a home made forward control cab custom made. It was that good it looked like a factory made product. ( any photos of either?)

Hi Waynestr, the White you mention (angry ant) is a White 3000 and was purchased from a Paul Attard by the late Tom Glover from Deniliquin many years ago. One of Tom's son's now owns it but not sure where it is now.
It was powered by a 6V53 GM, had a RR and was bogie drive.

I recall a White 3000 running up & down the Wallgrove Rd/Elizabeth Dr area Eastern Creek (South Western Sydney) hauling a steel bogie tipper painted up in the colours of a local quarry company - I used to see it regularly on that route from mid 90's up to c.2005/6 (never saw it again once the M7 opened) was a really neat unit - probably the same truck.

Saw that "custom" Louisville too on many occassions running in Aztec colours around Maldon/Picton (NSW) & on Heathcote Rd Moorebank - certainly turned heads with it's futuristic styling........last time I saw it was in a for sale ad in the "Big Wheels" book of deams 10 or so tearsa ago looking much worse for wear & painted black (I think it may have been a Melbourne Wrecking Yard which had it for sale)

White 302264 belonging to T.P. (Tom) Gilroy of Christchurch, N.Z. Would have a White Mustang 450A flathead motor. There were only four 3000 series White trucks, all bogie drive 302264 models in N.Z. They were sold by White agents, Cable Price Corporation, who supplied a few more WC2264 models and the later Reo cab 2064 models with Reo Gold Comet type Super Mustang o.h.v. motors and 2064D models with Detroit 6V53N power.

There used to be one painted in Brambles colours based at Charmhaven NSW back in the late 60's ,I think pulling a tanker. It had a v6 screamer and used to go like the clappers.I used to run across the Hay Plains behind it quite often , and it was a really good pacemaker.I think the owner was called Barry or Brian Watts.

...the futuristic modified Louisville was in Daylesford Truck Wreckers front yard about 10 years ago and as far as i know, wasn't parted out in bits....so she should still be out there somewhere....
