The Darling downs zoo is good especially if you take the kids its got a good variety of animals including white lions it can all be seen in less than an hour if you are pushed for time or you can spend half a day there and it has plenty of shade if its hot.I am not so sure if I will get the acco to Allora as the gearbox tried to fall out yesterday

Must be something with Inters and Allora this year.
Last weekend I completed service/tune-up on our AB, parked it after a test drive and then could not get the beast going again. Starter motor issues, no noises, no clicking, no failed engagement, battery in good nick.... Even wouldn't turn the starter when connecting direct to battery bypassing the solenoid?? By this stage getting too late on Sunday night to progress.
Monday after work remove the starter motor for further inspection, couldn't get the bugger out, the exhaust extractors get in the way! So this means manifolds etc off to get the starter out.
Tuesday night, clean up old oxidised terminals, clean oil dirt dust from the internals, check brushes/armature, and lube the bushes. Starter now works a treat. Check ignition switch and wiring, all good here too.
Tonight put the whole lot back together (probably after the impending storm we are expecting shortly, gets a bit loud in the shed).
Hopefully all is good for Saturday.
Regards
Roger

How big is it swap meet size? Worth driving 500k? Bigger than cessnock swap meet?

Weather forecast for Allora is max 29 degrees from Fri to monday, 18/20 min over night, with "scattered showers/storms". Rainfall forecast says between 1mm and 10mm, dry on Sun - so enough to lay the dust but not nearly enough to create any excitement. North east breeze.

No idea how big the swap meet is at Cessnock, but it is a reasonable size, I've been to bigger one in Briso, but there is a bit of variety.
If you like old Tractors and Trucks there isn't a better show in SE QLD. Plenty of cars too but it isn't a "Car" show, and a good selection of motor bikes too.
Tractors are King though, with Trucks very close behind.

Looking forward to hooking up with anyone here wanting to join us for a Saturday morning drive to this event - and we are the Series Landy Owners, Inc. We'll be taking the Heifer Creek road via Gatton, forming a convoy to Allora......I spoke to Trevor Davies last night, and he might have mentioned 8.30am as a start time at your Tuesday meeting, but we had arranged 8.00am.....
So, if folks want to join us for the drive - 8.00am it is, at the Dinmore Pads/Scales....see you there!
Dan.
