HCVC (Sandown) show - change of date or venue

Then some OH&S guru gave them a long list of legal liabilities and work they needed to do with lighting and other things so all the community groups were moved on. (Some like V8 Supercars have people there all night).
It was around this time the Saturday night dinner moved to Swishy's and Sandown keep making the start time later and later.
Slasha in the original post I mentioned the event could not clash with Echuca due to the Sandown 500 race. You guys might need to grab a couple of big screen tvs to have around your show so we can see qualifying and stop people leaving early Sunday to be home before the race
I intend to be at Echuca with at least 2 vehicles
There is a shortage of affordable venues around Melbourne that can hold the show. The Melbourne Showgrounds are too expensive (Or were when I last looked), VFL Park is under housing and other sites (such as MSTEC) look to be too small by the time you fit over 300 vehicles in.
I am sure the committee would welcome any ideas of venues. I was with a group who looked at Cranbourne once several yeara ago but they had regular racing on the Saturday night that limited the setup time. They did however have undercover space.
Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!

Port Melbourne football ground has hosted Holden rallies.
I am unfamiliar with the other football grounds re availability and suitability.
Moonee Valley Racecourse, the poor relation of the others?
Caulfield: too expensive?
Ghoshs Paddock (Richmond) is an MCC responsibility: I don't know the fee, but it lacks camping facilities. A deal would have to be done with one of the local Melbourne Park amenities. It would lack parking for spectators.
Of the nearer country racecourses: Yarra Glen should have everything; Healesville is a prospect. I know nothing of Cranbourne.
Essendon Airport is a prospect, but probably at ripoff rates. Avalon airport may welcome the money, but the display is moving into Geelong territory. Lilydale Airfield (Coldstream) may be suitable. It hosts airshows with overnight camping. Get the bus-display people to run shuttles from Lilydale railway station. Like most airfields, there is lots of grass, but is there enough? There would be club and private flying happening, but you might be able build on fraternal feeling by inviting vintage aircraft to participate.
As a one-off, the munitions site at West Maribyrnong has been decontaminated, but not yet redeveloped. I suspect oh&s issues still.

...is there a possibility of a benevolent transport company being able to donate the hardstanding needed to conduct a weekend such as this?....
...to me, the benefits start to stand out in regards to PR for any major transport related company interested in taking this issue on....
...we all get bound up in the ''public liability'' issues, but a lot of crap could be cut through ....if enough thought and pen ink is applied....

...any and all input on this dilemma would help with the emerging issue of the problem of a decent long term home for the HCVC Display Day outing ...on the time proven, and desired last weekend of November of every year ....
