That was me!!! I was very fortunate to have my mate Pat Vassallo (you'd all know him as the owner of the pretty red R200 with the spread axle trailer) loaning me his black & white old Transtar to drive on Haulin' so that my Dad could drive the Commer. What I didn't know or expect to see was the Tranny freshly painted in blue and white with all new line and scroll work, chrome rims, new tyres all round (fun in the wet ) and looking a million bucks. He managed to keep it a secret and I was as proud as punch .
A massive weekend was the result of an enormous amount of work with some amazing help. I'm still regrouping at the moment after getting in last night but I'm thrilled that the weekend turned out as I'd always wanted - great blokes, great trucks, plenty of onlookers and absolutely no hassles. Thanks to everyone who came along and supported the event. No count on the money raised but even in these tough times (especially in the Transport Industry) we know that we have far exceeded our goal and once a count has been done I'll announce it.
And the cream on the cake? At least for you guys...........HCVC getting the Top Club award. Wait to you see the trophy
