After your done at the Geelong Show you can take an orderly drive up the coast and into QLD to the Allora Show. This was reputed as being the largest Rally of last year, might be becasue it was the only one.

Just got home from a Heritage Weekend meeting due to the surge in covid cases we have had a mass withdrawal of volunteers the main ones being the catering
It was also felt if there was a spike in cases we would be the ones to get the finger pointed at so it was decided a this stage to postpone to a date later in the year when things have settled down or sorted themselves out

Also heard that the Showground Committee decided to increase the charge to 'hire' the grounds went up by 250%.

Yes Cobba that as well not quite 250 percent but 10k up front plus our other costs it becomes a bit of a risk if it goes to $#1t

I wonder if it is wise to discuss financial matters on the forum, not judging but we can see how quickly Chinese whispers and things get misquoted, as in fees going up 250% etc

I dunno how many of you have ever been involved in organizing a event, I can tell you it takes a huge effort and is hard enough as it is with out creating gossip

I was told by a member that the previous cost was $4k and is now $10k so I went with that. It was not commenting on the financial status of the CLub running the event rather the greed involved by the Showground Committee and again not declaring their financial status so I did not see an isue with what I put up.

Sorry about the short notice I thought I had put the new date’s up on here and was just going to bump it up to the top

14th & 15th which is next weekend don’t like the look of the weather forecast but it won’t be the first time we’ve been up to our knees in mud hopefully the BOM might have it wrong
