Great pics. You brought me two Studebakers. Also, love the colour on that Mainline.
Thanks, Jarrod.

ASW, Stude Ambulance body built in Sale Victoria for East Gippsland Service.
259 V8 from memory.
Mainline an original Ford colour according to the owner. Wanted one vehicle kept close to original as possible. Really well preserved and restored.

MrsMack, the Federal some machine alright.
Hope you can read the description.
thanks Paul, I opened it up and read it on the computer
My Federal had the HB600 from new, when I purchased it the heads had been pulled and rocker gear removed and lost
Water had got in the bores and stuffed them
I pulled the motor as I couldn't get parts and I new nothing about the interweb then
I have kept the motor and maybe one day I'll put it back
A great read and looks like a great time was had by all
Paul

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Thanks for the pics PaulFH.
The truck and car numbers were down this year, so were the spectators, buses were plentiful. Still an awesome show with perfect weather, ran into Swishy about ten times LOL!
Here's some smaller gear that I liked.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Before you read this and dismiss it as purely negative, let me explain that I was involved in all the early annual displays from the second one, in about 1986, on.
This was a good show, spoiled by extremely loud music, as in recent years. The music did not penetrate outside the roofed area where the vendors and the club stall were. It was almost impossible to have a conversation with vendors or anyone else. Everybody I spoke to said that the music was too loud, most of them without any prompting from me.
Unfortunately, the show was exactly the same as it has been for the last few years, this may make a lot of prospective visitors think it is not worth going this time as they have seen it all before. It is time we came up with something different, although I do not know what.
I do not want to appear too critical but the fact that numbers of both exhibitors and the general public was down indicates that something is wrong. It is probably the best venue we have ever had and with a little tweaking, should be the best in the country.

I intend to paint my Stude Hawk a similar colour to that Mainline, if I ever get around to it!
Cheers, Jarrod.

I knew the ambulance well when it was owned locally, by John and Lorna Venema. As well preserved as any in a museum. I think there was a mannequin in the back at that time. Had lots of period stuff in it.ASW, Stude Ambulance body built in Sale Victoria for East Gippsland Service.

Morris I dunno much about shows, I'm not a show type of bloke
Many reasons for this but I'm a bit different
As for music been to loud, that to me is a instant turn off and head out side we're it's quieter
My ear drums (or what ever it is) just vibrate
Anyway I guess people, exhibitors and the visiting public need to feel valued and wanted
If it is to clicky and exhibitors wandering around 3 sheets to the wind this may not be as welcoming as people may think, especially for families
Remember I am not a show going type of bloke so these comments most likely mwan nothing

I do a few western machinery shows and Dubbo I don't go east (anywhere near Sydney) it's all 2 Pac and chrome, don't worry to much with the Exabition hall at Dubbo for the same reason, the best things at Dubbo this year was half a dozen old stock crates they would have been standout in their day, by the end of the day there was a stock crate admiration group, shit they were well made.
Last time I went to trundle, there was about 5 every day working road trains loaded with old old tractors and not a square inch of two Pac to be found anywhere, one of the best shows I have been to, by no means the biggest but without doubt one of the best.

There have been truck shows or runs every weekend since the Echuca show in September. With Maffra and Bendigo Swap this coming weekend maybe a few people are just truck showed out?
While I know you can camp onsite for the Saturday night the facilities don't really suit us with our current movement problems.
This raises the issue of accommodation costs. We could stay in a motel in Yarrawonga for less than staying in the Yarra Valley and it's half the travelling. There were some vehicles at Bright and Yarrawonga that I have seen at the HCVC show back in the Sandown Days.
Maybe moving the date from the end of the month to a date with a lot of already existing events (and harvest is in full swing) has impacted numbers?
