Tony Kuchel Memorial, October 2024

Greetings, What a corker day for a Show & Shine. First off the rank is the first of Kuchel's new Kenworths- the other new one was there but still in its pyjamas.  . Apparently you can no longer spec a Cummins in a new Western Star so Kuchel's are now buying Kenworths.       . That'd be a 12v92T there so this Peterbilt would have a bit of giddy-up.

I drove a Tupperware Atkinson a bit in the early 80's with an 892TTA, on one of my first in between electrical construction jobs, jobs, and thought it went like a shower off shit, in hindsight compared the things I drove in later years it was probably a bit ordinary, maybe just sounded fast, I think I would have to follow the 12- 92TTA loaded in something else pretty good before I made any judgement, I did an interstate trip in a SAR with a KTA once so that's the bench mark and I really doubt 12-892TTA would see the dust, but a pretty impressive bit of gear none the less. 

You got a nice shot of my Diamond Reo Peter. I knew Tony quite well so it was good to remember him at the memorial day.

The Tony Kuchel Memorial is on this weekend and going by the weather report on the TV news last night it's not going to be a very pleasant day. Bugga. I'll decide on the morning whether it's worth attending.
