Hello Morris,
Know what you mean about travel ,7hours
each way but well worth it.
I had never seen a tilt Tautliner like that
before so was hoping somebody knew about them.
Blanchards use to carry Koppers Utility poles x Grafton,
so might need a Tautliner for return journey.

Tilting the tautliner enables load to be craned off & on, in this case concrete railway sleepers. One ram each end does the tilt, pretty tidy set up, and when down pin slides in to lock each end.

Hi Mammoth,
Thanks for the reply.
That was my way of thinking as well,
Crane on and off with the big stuff and
the benefits of a Tautliner.
Bit like the advantages of the old
Camel trailers,get paid both ways.

Mammoth,
Thank you for that clear explanation, I did not know that these things existed.

Morris.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
