A friend and me drove this 1941 Fordson WOT2D to one of the early Corowa events. It was a 100F day and the Ford V8 boiled its heads off, literally. We fitted a full windscreen for comfort, the original screens were small aero screens like a MG sports car has.
The Aust. Army disposed some of these little trucks before the war was finished , they went to bush fire brigades and govt. Departments. In 1942, the trucks were headed for ports that were overun by the Japanese , the ships were diverted , and unloaded in Australia.
This Ford, was one of the very first vintage vehicles registered under the then new classic registration scheme.
Just adding, after driving the Ford around for a while, we discovered there was no air pressure in the rear tyres, we didnt notice it because they were run flat tyres. The front tyres we fitted were conventional nos Olympic chevron 900-16 . Apparently, Olympic made a batch of these in the early 1970s .

The Corowa event has changed over the years. It began as a informal gathering. I attended the first event, some of the vehicles seen at the current event weren't even built when the event began ! Many of the original attendees are no longer with us.
1981 pic.
The Brockway weekend in Cortland NY USA started the same way. In the 90's, A family picnic gathering of Brockway owners in a county park. One year a member of the Cortland County tourism department attended. Ideas were tossed around and in 2000 they held the first show. It has grown into a museum and the largest brand specific show in the USA with 150 (+/-) Brockways celebrating the past brand each year.
