Alice Springs Photos???

Thought I'd post a few pics as promised. We had a great time and met some wonderful people, the likes of Sarge and IH Scout (who I didn't know was him until after we left), Basil, Murray L, Ray, as well as plenty of lurkers such as Chugga (welcome to the forum Peter) and his delightful girlfriend Natasha, Matthew and his Missus and countless others who have escaped through the grey matter. I just wish I could have spent more time chatting but I realised that would be hard when it took me 2 hours to check the oil due to the people talking.

The Knocker shed

Cool ;D refrigerated living quarters

The owner told me $65k on paint and panel alone............

White Western Star owned by a collector in Sydney - magic

Ex Big Cam???

I loved this GM powered Dodge

Brown & Hurley restored these gems

Lindsay is getting into the spirit

CMV just finished this one for Cleveland - their first KW

One of 4 KM Bedfords that was on display

There was a heap of B model Macks there and this one, owned by Jeffsann in Sydney, used to ply the Hume with a fully chromed front end, bonnet, guards, everything

Supercharged Cummins in this one............

...........and a turbo Cummins in this one

This was one of my favourites there and it also had a fully restored McGrath bogie trailer

A few for the Benz brigade

LTL Mack 8-)

For Swishy ;)

The owner of this one drove it there and flew home after handing the keys over to Liz

These two Petes belong to Barry Chadwick from Murrangaroo near Lithgow. The later 359 was featured in Truckin Life in the early to mid 80's and Barry had always loved the truck. So when he found it in the bush after tracking it for some time he didn't let the fact that it had been painted metallic blue and fitted with a tipping body deter him. He pestered the owner for two years before he got it and then faithfully restored it back to its original imported specs.

Val, who travelled with us (right) had said that he used to own the truck and I mentioned it to Barry (left) in the past but he didn't know Val as one of the owners. We got them together in Alice and an emotional Val pointed out a number of unique points of the truck that convinced Barry that Val had owned it for about 10 years. Barry was good, took Val in the parade and I got a mate of mine who currently works for Truckin Life to meet them and he did a full story on them!! History restored

Another outstanding restoration, Shearers Road Commander 2

I'll post some more when I have downloaded them :)

Bruce,
Keep those pics coming.

Those guards on that Red Diamond T is exactly what I had in mind for the Commer except I have to deal with the wheel issue first to try and pick up 2" wall to wall so it fill in the guard more. LELOX wont make narrower guards with the rolled edge. I hope 10.00's on the 7" rim solve the problem.

If anyone knows where I can get 7.5"-8.25" rims with the same offset as the commer, please inform me. Anyone with an old 10stud english style wheel with the wide dimensions? Please advise

Please help me. I need Commer Parts

Good on ya Bruce, I know it's not the same as being there, but it's great to see all the gear that was anyway.

I am just speechless. I don't think I have seen such variety of vehicles and quality of restoration/maintenance in one place. Bloody hell, it just feels good to scroll up and down the pics.

Really enjoyed the Cleveland KW and the Fox 190 and the...

So much for being speechless. :D

Thanks, Bruce.

Did I hear you say want more??

Okay, here's more......................

This old girl had been repowered with a 4/53 GM by the original owner. His grandson was there working on it. Said that they still owned another one with a petrol and a 630 with a petrol that were all purchased new my their Pop!!

When the old boy and I took the Knocker on its maiden run we met this R200 with a Cummins at an intersection. Still havn't met the owner but it is a very schmick resto.

I read the comments regarding Max's Dodge. I know Max personally and I can assure you that the RTHOF are going to fully restore this truck to its former glory!

Saw a bloke with a moustache and in a coppers uniform lurking around this one, sizing it up to see if it would fit on the back of a certain Butterbox :o
