As Cam has related above he came to the rescue of the poor old Volvo by diverting to his shop to construct a custom made US/Swedish conversion rod to stick between the trucks. Darren duly arrived with the float after getting his Mack off the display line and hooking up to come back 20km.
Neither of them would take so much as a carton of beer for all the stuffing around. There are some good people out there!
Interesting story:
When we arrived with the float at the scene of the disaster Cam had got there before us. I said, "We'll just have to slip under and pull the remains of the tail shaft off"
Cam lounged back on the tray of the truck and replied "No worries, Kelley is under there and just about has the job finished"
Darren's mate squatted down and saw this really good looking little blonde girl in a black tank-top and short shorts covered in grease, undoing the last bolts. He turned to us and said "Geez, he's got a young wife but the rotten mongrel has made her crawl under the truck to get the tail shaft off!"
Kelly was on her last day as a fitter apprentice before getting her ticket, having worked in Cam's workshop for 4 years. Still, it didn't seem right that 3 blokes leaned on the side of the truck watching this little girl doing all the work.

Someone's got to do the work Lang.
Actually I'd better just clarify a couple of pionts as well-
I was just imbibing in one of those barbed wire stubbie's you dropped off, and I can asure you they are fresh.
Kel actually shared the chocolates you gave her with the rest of us.
Kel also completed her last module ( the written part) on the way back from Gatton, in the relative peace of the GM screaming and the lounge chair ride while in the passenger side, which I thought was good going.
And probobly most importantly, Amanda is my wife, though Kel is the one who usually goes to the shows and enjoy's going. Our little diversion on the way to Gatton was a bit of good fun.

Hi Steve, when you copy and paste the photobucket address, use the one at the bottom when you have your mouse over the picture that says "Img Code".
I take it the blue R model is yours?
