I bought a pair of shoes with Memory Foam Insoles.
Never again will I walk into a room and wonder what I went in there for.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

You can't put brains into a statue.

It's a long road without a dog in it.
And one from my old grandfather, "The guns always loaded and the dog always bites".

No point in having a five second rule if you have a two second dog.

Bob,
I do not know how I got over the hill without ever getting to the top.

Don’t send a boy on a mans errand.

You don’t look at the mantle piece when you’re stoking the fire. ( If you get my drift). lol.

Many a good tune played on an old fiddle. ( Same connotation as the one above).

In the same book as Overnite,
"The carpet doesn't always match the curtains."

Near enough is never good enough but sometimes good enough can be near enough!

This one from my dear departed mate, Laurie Dawber, may he rest in peace.
Lawrie served in the Korean War and was the last of the non-university educated helicopter spare parts experts. Wow, who would have thought of learning about helicopters by working on helicopters?

Laurie had a few great stories. One was about a group of Aussie servicemen in Korea who wanted a helicopter. An American quartermaster said he could get them one and all he wanted was a jeep. They found a "lost" jeep and plotted an island-hopping route to fly the "copter" to Australia. However, they realised that they could never register the helicopter in Australia and would probably be arrested on landing, so had to drop the plan. All involved are dead now, so I can tell the true story.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

One of the favorite sayings of my "driver trainer" back in the mid 60's: "The impossible only takes an extra five minutes" !!! He meant just stop and think about the problem a minute..
