Sometimes Sayings.

It has now been almost a week since I wrote four times, only to have them all disappear. I will have another go. I will try keeping them shorter, although one try only lasted one sentence before the gremlins took it away.
 
There are a few quotes from a biography of W C Fields (born William Claude Dukinfield) by Robert Lewis Taylor. The book is called "W C Fields, his Follies and Fortunes."

Fields became an expert golfer and often played against movie director Gregory La Cava. Fields was an awful cheat and carried a pocketful of coins which he jingled noisily whenever La Cave was putting..

Fields and La Cava were both big gamblers. Fields watched La Cava's career carefully and only phoned La Cava about golf when the director was both emotionally and physically drained after finishing a picture. In this way, as Fields said, he won two Lincoln Town Cars from La Cava.

Fields was very jealous of the success of Charley Chaplin. A few years before Fields death, he was persuaded to attend a showing of early two-reel comedies. When Chaplin suffocated a 300 pound villain by pulling a gas streetlight down on his head, the audience laughter reached a crescendo. Fields coughed desperately. He muttered to his companion, who was fortified against the cooling system by a heavy tweed jacket "Hot in here" and retired to his Lincoln. Later when asked what he thought of Chaplin's work, he replied "the son of a Bitch is a Ballet Dancer" He's pretty funny, don't you think continued his companion.  "He's the best ballet dancer that ever lived said Fields and if I get a good chance, I will kill
him with my bare hands"

It has happened again. I got almost finished what I was posting and it all disappeared. I wish I knew what caused it, or where it went.

Sometimes I find that I touch parts of the screen while typing. This causes the same thing. So try to be mindful of fat fingers touching things it shouldnt
