WOW, pretty strong stuff for it's day! Wouldn't mind reading that in it's entirety, very thought-provoking! Dave

SwishyIt took at least an hour or two as a one-and-a-half finger typist. I then had to go through it all and correct all the errors and spaces within words. (Note yr name in battleship grey)

Dave-64 Send me your address, either in open forum or PM, and I will mail the book to you. There is not much more anti-religious stuff, it is all about life in the outback in the early years of the 20th Century. The hero, Davey (David) is the half-aboriginal son of a hard working man who, unusually for those days, married his aboriginal partner.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Bloody spot on Morris, the older I get (dammit) the more cynical I am about anything the gubbermint or the religous mob do...
Euthanasia is another topic of mine at the moment... You wouldn't keep a dog alive thats buggered and crook because its the "humane" thing to do, but we keep humans alive that are in the same boat or worse...
Send me a link to the book too will you? Sounds a bit like "A fortunate life" by Bert Facey- he did go to war, its a great read by an amazing fella.
Cheers
Rich

I am a bit late with my Monday posting. Wife and I went away last Wednesday for a few days away for the first time in five or six years. Got home about five o'clock.
Last Friday, we were in Beechworth Victoria and an old bloke and I met in the doorway of a gift shop. He pointed to the bottle of hand sanitizer that most shops, cafe's, etc have at their entrance these days and told me what was probably his own joke. "An old bloke drank four bottles of this and did not get drunk but you should see how clean his liver is!"
