Grandad

What a nice post after my uncultured effort above. My wife says thank you.

Yes, and your Grand Children. I don't know about Great Grand Children, it hopefully will be a few years yet. (Granddaughter just turned 19)

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Paul

That old saying about vehicle restorations "The last 10% takes 90% of the time."

Prompted by the above...

It is never finished until it is sold.

I phoned my wife earlier and asked her if she wanted me to pick up fish and chips on my way home from work but she just grunted at me

I think she still regrets letting me name the twins

I missed my usual Monday saying because I was at the HCVCA show at Bendigo. (More about this in HCVCA 50th thread) I planned to return home on Monday but old mate had radiator trouble and I stayed to take him to Natrad radiators. Man was very honest and explained that the 45 year old radiator was rotted out and he could only patch it up and it would probably leak again on the way home. I took mate to the railway station where he caught a train and then a bus home. He removed radiators from couple of spare-parts trucks next morning and brought them to Bendigo in his Wife's car. I paid a very small fee to have my Morris Ute put on hoist at Bendigo Wreckers (good blokes) and adjusted the gear linkage. I fitted new spark plugs and cleaned carburettor bowl and filter and we set off in convoy. My Wife and I arrived home at twelve minutes past midnight last night.

The police officer called the station on his radio.

" I need backup here, an old lady has shot her husband for walking on the floor
she just mopped."

"Have you arrested the woman?"

"Not yet, the floor is still wet."

In Bendigo at Tuesday last week I called in to an electronics and everything else shop and asked the teenage shop assistant for 40 millimetre flexible hose. He took me to see shrink-wrap that ranged between about 3mm to 8mm. I repeated that I needed 40 millimetre ducting and we eventually found it. He said he did not know if it was correct because after the size (40) it said MM. I explained that would stand for millimetre. When I told the story to my Wife said said I should have told him it stood for Magic Mushrooms, that might be something he would understand.
