Just reading Morris’s post about blokes with nicknames( along with the ridiculous things we have all done at one time or another, re the kapok blanket). Many years ago, before containerisation, when freight was hand stacked from your truck to pallets on the dock then loaded by cargo net onto the ships? You guys remember when? Used to do quite a bit of ships stores to 13 Pyrmont which was one of the main cruise departure points at the time. Wharfies seemed to have a name for just about everyone, one leading hand I came to know was called “the Judge”, (he was always sitting on cases), his tally clerk was called “Alibi”( he had an answer, or an excuse for everything). I’m sure you blokes can add plenty more, also some of the well-intentioned but disasterous mishaps like Morris’s Guy Fawkes.

Don't forget "Haversack", who is always on your back.
I used to work with a guy known as "Cargo". He would always, "Take that on board".
