Army also had a term for cooks. “Fitters and Turners” Fit meat into a pot and turn it into sh-t!

Probably not the most politically correct, but another former army mate ex-artillery bombardier, had three fingers missing due to gunnery mishap. He was known as “the Clock”. One hand bigger than the other!

Worked with we called Flop, funny little orange thing, short bright red hair and angry all the time

Had a T.A. as a apprentice called Doc, deaf old c__t, he was a great old bloke

Met a bloke at the Richmondvale Railway Museum with Old Boiler Inspector on his badge. HE kept an eye on all the girls.
