The German Junkers Ju-86R heavy bomber of WW2 was powered by diesel engines with nitrous oxide injection

I must be way out of touch.
Seems diesel is also getting the chop, for short hops at least.
Gold Coast hangar has tested an electric conversion to a Caravan.
And a big US float plane company is hoping to go all electric in the near future. They have a Beaver converted and under trials at present.
Holding patterns might be a bit of a worry??

I've heard that a lot of girls have converted their beavers to battery operation.

DeHavilland Beaver. (not to be confused with Leyland’s excellent product)
Supposed to be one of the best floatplanes ever produced.
But noisy as buggery so maybe with an electric engine, passengers could have conversation without headsets.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

wee-allis, is that mostly in Canada?
After all it would be difficult to convert a map of Tasmania to battery power:dry:
