I got my annual Flu shot as usual without thinking that Flu has almost disappeared. Anyway, it does not hurt does not do any damage and, at my age anyway, is free.
I said on this thread a few months ago that a mate who is on the Board of a very large aged-care home (or is it a chain of homes?) said that instead of their usual 100 plus deaths from Flu every year, there were NO deaths from it in 2020. He said it was because of the restriction on visitors and those who were able to visit were all wearing masks!
I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

The interesting scenario with flu is that our bodies have now been missing the regular 'challenge of a bit of flu which normally kept up at least some level of natural immunity. So what happens when borders are opened - do we get slammed with a serious flu epidemic?
The other side of that coin is there is a whole lot less flu going around because people and covering their faces, social distancing and lockdowns so it probably wont be epidemic proportions but might hit a few who do get it harder because the resistance will be lower and it will have been adapting trying to survive.
We both had the Flu shot before winter as usual, and AZ for Covid.
Wife just recovering from a week of Flu, probably from grandchildren.
I've been more isolated and so far free of the bugs.
Hope that continues. Paul.
Took me 23 weeks to final shot, and I booked in the first day the 70+ group was eligible.......My old man always used to say Australian politicians couldnt organize a (cant say the rest on a family forum.)
