I am hoping this thing does the Spanish Flu/ Bird Flu thing and just disappears as quickly as it arrived.

People in border areas get hit by rule changes on both sides, particularly if one of the borders is NSW

Did people know the NSW border was shut to Victorians mid-July? They just quietly added Victoria to the list of "Areas of Concern" and didn't tell anybody, not even the affected border communities. The first we found out about it was when they fined a NSW Caravan park and the regional Victorians staying there. This was while regional NSW was considered an Orange Zone by Victoria so no Victorian rules were broken.

The impacts for border community residents is they need to stay in the NSW border region definition if they need to travel to what is effectively the next suburb. My wife had a specialists appointment in Bendigo a couple of weeks ago and as we share a house we were bioh meant to quarantine for 14 days - not even going grocery shopping before we could cross the border whether I went with her or not. While people say Bendigo is a fair way from the border it's provides specialist services (such as cancer treatments) for people as far away as Deniliquin. For this reason Victoria has Bendigo in it;s border communities definiton

I have my 2nd jab booked for Thursday week, which helps keep me safe, but doesn't help when trying to deal with 2 sets of conflicting rules.

Right with you Bruce,

Here's an idea, lets all push for Australia to be united and become one country, as was intended back in Federation. What do you reckon?

wee-allis that would be far too difficult for politicians to cope with. Some of them might lose their job. The only people to win would be the lawyers. They would make a fortune every year from it until the States won.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I reckon Our Federal Politicians (On both Sides ) need to grow a set, Stop Pandering to Opinion Polls & show some Leadership....
They're there to Lead & be respected.. Not to be Liked..!!

don't matter." -

Real leaders will do what is best not what is popular and do so with an air of grace. Using that our last real leaders were probably Whitlam and Fraser and maybe Howard.

It was Hawke that turned it into a popularity contest and Keating doesn't convey that air of grace, He appears to be more smug and aloof and uncaring

It will be interesting to see what happens in time with the current batch of state and federal leaders. Who will history be kind to? At the moment it's all too contriversial it needs about 20 years for people to go "I hated what X was doing at the time but they were right"
