I saw the wobbly shot. I was thinking wtf. give it here I will do it myself and as you say, hardly inspires confidence.

Seems to be some mystery about injections. A couple of times we have set off on a third world adventure still requiring the second cholera or whatever shot. Doctor just gave us the syringe and non-refrigeration required vaccine and Bev and I gave the injection to each other at the appropriate time interval. It is not rocket science - stick it in and push the plunger.

The needles are so fine now, unlike the glass syringes and reusable darning needles of John's 1950's polio recollection. The word woose springs to mind,

Got it today. Still alive. Who'd a thunk it?

My previous quack (now on edge of retirement) has a reusable syringe in his room that looks like you would drench cattle with it. At our monthly allergy injections, I would tell my son to sit still, or he would get the "horse needle".

Army needle parade some 50 years back, a digger asks, "What's this for"?
Medic replies, "Shaddup".
Digger persists, "Nah, waddaya givin us now"?
Final reply, "If ya need to know, you'll be told"!

Can report some side effects. Had a severe fever last night. Shivering to the point of shaking. Rugged up, went away after an hour. Apparently my Mum had the same reaction. All fine now. Given my allergies, not totally unexpected.
Driving to dad's today. All the way there on the radio, ads from Clive Palmer effectively saying the needle will kill you. Clive can go to hell.

The mother of the children had her first A-Z shot on Tuesday. A bit dopey yesterday, that's all. Then again, nothing unusual. All good today.
