Lang You are absolutely correct, as usual. Your coolheadedness and alility to think through all the bullshit is way above that of most people, myself included.
You are correct about polititions and "Pubic Servants" as I like to call them.

Unfortunately the great majority of voters only think of themselves and only want instant gratification, on this and on all other matters. That is why there is such a large "Donkey Vote" at all elections. Many people vote for a particular Party "Because I have always voted for them" or "My Father voted for them so I do as well" or "The other Party is not for people like us"

I read some time ago that in the mountainous districts of a country that you know, not so far from here, that members of political parties stood outside polling booths with a truck load of cartons of beer and promised each person who voted for them a carton. The article did not say how they checked which candidate was actually voted for. I think the same thing would work here if they could get away with it.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I am very much aware of the difference between my local State MP and her Public Servant manning the phones and emails. She will only talk to you if you are inviting her out to uncover a plaque and get a fre feed and her watchdog of a Public Servant speciailises in forwarding enquiries onto someone who can't answeer the question or offers a non reply meaning that the reply is in GOvernmment speak and is ambiguous at best and is totally in the grey area with no way of knowing what the reply means.
eg, just before leaving to go away on this short trip, I had to travel through a lock down LGA. Question was, Can we travel through a lock down area, not stop for any reason and not have to isolate for 14 days. @ days later I received a phone call which is not worth the paper it is printed on, saying yes I can travel through but not stop for any reason. So for a 2nd opinion I was in the RMS office paying a rego so asked them the same question. Yes you can travel through and stop for fuel or food but not stay in the area for any length of time.

So I sent the email again asking the Public Servant to reply in writing so that if I had any issues I could show the authorities what we based our decision on. This took a couple of days but the reply did change slightly to being the same as the RMS.

You should have looked in the lid as it goes on top of the stuff already in the jar.

You have not lost it. If you hold the jar up you will find there is an area on the bottom, the same size as the lid capacity, with only dark in it. Light weighs less than dark so it floats to the top.

It will stay up there for about 5 months and usually it will fall back into the jar around 1 April. Just wait.

SWISHY the best place to keep sunlight is in the sun. The best way to keep goanna oil is in a goanna. You never hear of it leaking out of them. I am not sure how you actually save the sunlight but those Sunlight Soap people say they do it with their little yellow bars of soap, so there must be a way!

You did not give us enough information.

Here is the answer for a standard round jar.

But for a square type biscuit jar the hyperbolic pre-emptive reflection from the corners gives this result.
