Ninety-third day of the war of the Ukrainian people against the world evil represented by the rashists! There is no information about our heroes who defended Azovstal. It is known that the rashists are preparing show trials and there is absolute silence about the prisoner exchange agreements. There is fierce fighting in eastern Ukraine and the rashists are using scorched earth tactics. After shelling and bombing by the rashists, there is no shelter behind which our army could provide defence. Our media does not give full information about our losses. This is probably the custom in war conditions. But from the front lines, soldiers are reporting that we have high casualties, (what can infantry do against missile and bomb attacks?). Promised military aid from our partners has started to be delayed. We can guess what this is due to, but cowardice and fear on the part of the leaders of the so-called old Europe is one of the main reasons, it is obvious. The smell of "shit" and betrayal is in the air! We will still win, but the price the Ukrainian people have paid and will pay will be very high!
Glory to Ukraine!
Thank you to everyone who supports our country in this difficult time not only with words!
Traditionally, the losses of the rascists as of 27 May!

The ninety-fourth day of the war of the Ukrainians against the rascists is over! We began to have economic problems, the national currency is falling, there is a shortage of some goods and a shortage of gasoline and diesel fuel. But the Ukrainian people do not feel these problems, because it hurts in peacetime, but during the war it does not matter. The only thing that matters to Ukrainians now is the victory over the rascists. By the way, the coronovirus has disappeared, probably afraid of the Ukrainian spirit. In the last ten days, despite superior forces, the rascists have advanced three kilometers. Ukrainian soldiers are demonstrating the greatest heroism. Unfortunately there is no information about the heroes from the Azovstal plant who are being held captive by the rascists.
Glory to Ukraine!

Ninety-fifth day of the war of the Ukrainian people against the rascists. Lithuania, a small Baltic country with a big heart. Its population of 2.8 million people raised 5 million euros in three days to purchase a Bayraktar drone for Ukraine! Unfortunately, there is no information about the heroes who held the defense at the Azovstal plant! The rashists continue their offensive, but without much success. Ukrainian soldiers show incredible courage and desire to free the Ukrainian land from the rashists at any cost and avenge the deaths of the Ukrainians. We will win! Some military equipment that came to us from our partners is already successfully repulsing attacks on the front lines. Next in line is the use of anti-ship missile systems to unblock the Black Sea and export our grain! Thank you to all our partners for arming us!
Glory to Ukraine!
Traditionally, the losses of the rashists as of May 29!

Not sure who wrote today's Assessment but it contains much more emotion and opinion than the usual bare facts.

The ninety-sixth day of the heroic war of the Ukrainians against the russian fascists is coming to an end. Today, Europe is preparing to vote on the sixth package of sanctions against fascist russia. But there is a rule in the European vote that the decision must be taken unanimously. Tentatively, Hungary, which does not hesitate to support fascist russia, will vote against it. Practically, Hungary is putting all EU countries in an unseemly position. Maybe it makes sense to exclude from the European democratic union a country that openly supports fascism. The sixth sanctions package talks about stopping the purchase of oil products from russia, I agree the question is not technologically simple. Just so you understand, Europe pays russia 1 billion dollars a day for oil, and Ukraine has an economic deficit of 5 billion a month. Once again, the sooner they make radical decisions regarding russia, both in terms of economic isolation and arms supplies to Ukraine, the sooner the "inconveniences" will end in Europe.
There is no information anywhere about the heroes from the Azovstal plant, who are being held captive by the rascists. This silence is, to put it mildly, alarming. There are positional battles in eastern Ukraine, and our army does not allow the Rascists to occupy new territories.
Glory to Ukraine.

I agree about emotionalism. But amid the betrayal and stalling of arms deliveries, it is hard to remain detached. Even the president's adviser on the current situation is using foul language. What do you expect, it's war. But I agree with you that emotions are a very bad advisor.

This Assessment comments on the high loss rate of Russian junior officers causing more senior officers to come right up to the fighting with not only the high risk but the loss of "big picture" control caused by them leaving their battalion or even brigade headquarters. High loss of junior officers is standard in any war and 2nd lieutenant and lieutenant losses have always been proportionally far higher than any other rank including private. An infantry platoon commander is the most dangerous job in the army.

It seems the Russian system of command has a very high proportion of privates with far fewer NCO's than other armies. As a result whereas in other armies the platoon sergeant takes over seamlessly when the platoon commander is taken out the Russians have nobody to immediately step into his shoes. It has been suggested the lack of a strong pyramid command structure has led to a loss of control allowing private soldiers to run amok with atrocities without corporals and sergeants maintaining close discipline.

Normally good sergeants would receive Field Commissions to lieutenant (doing a course at some later date on all the officer stuff) giving them the authority to go with their ability and experience to complete the current battle. It appears the Russians have no such system.

Even having those failings the sheer size of the Russian army is a worry. As they said in WW1 ,"God is on the side of the big battalions"
