No. The South African way was in place on the original timing. It adds 7-10 days to the Red Sea route but was already the selected route when the shipping company did the container tracking plan.

That's a bit of a blow Lang

Not to worry, does the ship have to sale around south Africa with all the world troubles at the moment or does it still go thru the Suez canal ?

Here is our route prettywell set by country. Iran looks OK with the Vintage Car people with us the whole way from Turkey to Pakistan.

And we finally have absolute certainty on the ship as it left Singapore this morning with our container on board - "Louis Bleriot" It calls into Algecirus Spain (Gibraltar) before going on to Southampton by 02 April.

And we complain about traffic jams! This is only major shipping (not fishing or small boats). Red is Tankers, Green is Cargo Ships. Our ship "Louis Bleriot" is the circle under Kuala Lumpur. They all give satellite reports continuously.

    Steve

    Goodwood Revival is in September

Here is a clip of me flogging the Vimy around at Goodwood about 15 years ago.

Another one doing some PR stuff in San Francisco. It nearly came unstuck but they didn't put it in the video when I lost sight of the pylons on the Golden Gate bridge while trying to get a "close shot". Now that would have been a news story!

You must get a real buzz out of remembering/and flying the Vimy.

I imagine it would be a highlight of your life.

It was interesting and allowed me to go to a lot of strange places but certainly not my favourite aircraft. Just another chapter rather than a highlight.

I expect the Bean triip to be up there with the Vimy as a highlight. If I chose highlights it would be the trips just Bev and I did alone by ourselves - Around the World FIAT 500 and Aqabah to Normandy in the 1941 Dodge. The trips with all the razzamataz film crews and a cast of thousands like Peking to Paris and the Vimy really gave me the s...ts almost every day. When you are trying to fly or drive as well as manage the whole operation the amazingly high percentage of needy people detracts from the fun.
