Despite being able to fix nearly anything, translating an idea into reality is something I have never been capable of.

How you respond to a challenge has a direct connection with how hungry the Kids are and how big the Mortgage is, enough pressure and you would come good. I had a lot of help from Atlas Copco and the local machine shop that was owned by a equal nut job, we built another for a mine in South Africa that you wheeled in on a hand trolley, think I Atlas Copco built some more, there was talk of a patent but these days you can build anything you want if you change a couple of bolt sizes so it just ends up money for nothing.

Great to have a customer to let you indulge in inventiveness.
Off topic but as you mention Atlas Copco I can't resist asking for advice. I have been using an aging 250cfm screw compressor which after a new lift pump has been working as it should but otherwise has not received the tlc it deserves. Running the sand blaster the other day by the end of the session the garnet was not cutting. A look at the pressure gauge showed 50psi instead of the usual 100. I have been through all valves (except safety) and they seem in order. At one point when testing the safety valve was popping off. The radiator was pretty blocked with external gunge and the thermo in the compressor has a broken lead to the cutout switch. After cleaning up everything lowest idle shows 50psi and when loaded most I can get is abt 65psi even tho engine seems to be revving to max. Not able to substitute the pressure gauge which would be a good idea.
oil tank shows full.
Any ideas or have I cooked the screws?

There wasn't to much undulance involved, ten kilometers of cable tray to be installed underground on quote, it's a case of biting of more than you can chew and chewing like all Buggey to not go broke, you put a price in for a job and shit yourself when you get it. Those little hammer drills were hydraulic, I really no nothing about screw compressors. But someone here will
