Coupla days ago my Vodafone data stopped ....I was told my ID was non compliant and I would have to take ID to a Vodafone shop ..........they wanted a drivers licence ,passport ,medicare card ,and three recent utility bills with my name and adress on them............the woman at the shop (Chinese ,of course) could not make hereself understood ,and required frequent visits to the managers office ................my licence was the wrong colour ,must be a fake ,........she took a dozen pics of front and back ,and types on her laptop for 10 minutes ......then the BCC rates ,which Ive just paid ,needs a 10 minute analysis .......electricity is no good ,cause thhere is zero balance ......water is no good cause its too old ...by a couple of days............Then I need a new 'plan ' ,more date for same money ????..........for three months ,then maybe less dats for more money???............Must have taken an hour for all this crap .........

I would have lost it very fast, my wife handles most of that sort of stuff as I yell at them and they end up saying "please don’t use those words " etc.

Also add,I had to be there in person , they had to take an actual picture of me ,which apparently was compared with my licence pic by a computer ........either that or they were selling my identity on the dark web.

That amount is just crazy.  Made worse by Optus's inability to secure your data.

I hate the way they are collecting your ID details.   Mostly caused by a couple of kids deciding how the software will work and what they think is pretty 'çool'.

Another slightly interesting fact ......I forgot my bank debit card ,so the Voda shop couldnt complete my account ........however ....next day I get an email from Voda with an account number and a payment of $40 ............seems that Voda know my card details ,even though I have never given those details to Voda ............yeah ,i know what you re gonna say ........Voda is looking over my shoulder every time I do a bank transaction online.

I have a forked stick and a box of envelopes for landline contact. . I will throw in a box of matches and a smoke blanket if you want to use optical technology.

Lang,

I think your optical technology would be more successful than Optus's face-face optical technology.

I never let anyone have details of my driver’s license. It shows too much data. I use a service nsw id card. It only shows name address and photo. NEVER give anyone passport except for the purpose it was designed for.
