I'm going to draw a bit of a long bow.....
The article in the link was about an compressed air power car. The link has a few different Indian body shapes. If you squint, there is some resemblance to Lang's.
This took me to MDI in France and Guy Negre, who was designing them.... but how could one end up in Aust?
Especially something looking like a pre-production model.
And then, this link pops up. MDI selects Melbourne to build the cars.
www.wardsauto.com/news/archive-wards-mdi...in-melbourne/771699/
Could it be a very early version used to help the local company determine if the Melbourne manufacturing idea was viable???
Lang, what powers it?

Jon
This was the ultimate compulsive buy. It was next to nothing and looked so fascinating that I had to have it. I have absolutely no idea about ANYTHING regarding this machine so everything I find out is a bit of an adventure.
The bloke who sold it knew nothing (I think it has been in a heritage museum for years and its history lost.
The current expert is Vince (Oliver1950) who is the only person who has seen it so far.
Vince, is it petrol, diesel, electric or compressed air?

PS The only thing that the seller said was he was sure it was brought in to Australia for Brisbane World Expo 88 which could mean it could be any cutting edge design.
Being an obvious experimental low production design seems to pin it to India, Japan, UK or some other right hand drive country. Who knows might even be Australian?

Definitely electric. Looking at where the batteries were fitted right at the back it has standard battery leads so probably ran on deep cycle batteries.

I've looked through hundreds of photos from Expo 88 hoping to spot it but no luck. Anyone that uses Google tried doing a photo search of the vehicle photo?

Yes, I've been searching too. Nothing that completely matches.
I did find this:

You did not realise how valuable it was, just send me a cheque for $2,999 and I will call my pick up trip off and you can keep it to get started on the restoration.
