Born in Ireland moved to South Africa & then the old man still had itchy feet so moved to Congo & then to Nigeria in mid west Africa. Then dad took us all to Gods Country Australia. I was 13 when we came here. Then moved all over the place as I joined the Navy & have now settled in the Perth Hills & loving it all.

Raised in the spinafex country (Leonora/Laverton) on stations doing School of the Air and sports meets on the Rawlina Transline. Moved to the big city of gold, Kalgoorlie. A stint in the RAN. Then dazzled by the bright lights of the ubber city of Perth before travelling the world and being seduced by the cheap living, friendly people, motoring culture of USA and trying to find a way to go and live there

I'm Peter, grew up in the Yarra Valley and I'm still there, been in trucks since a long time ago now, Dad had an Inter AB 180 that he carted logs with out of Toolangi so it probably started back then, I'm only new to the forum and have a lot of old photos to share.

HI I'm Darryl
I spent the first 6 years and on a farm at West Pingelly WA and then moved to Perth but manged to spend most of the following 10 years of school holidays with my Grand Parents back on the farm.
At 17 I joined the RAAF and was Posted to Edinburgh SA, Laverton Vic, Darwin NT, Amberley QLD, Butterworth Malaysia, Richmond NSW, Pearce WA and back to Richmond NSW. That all took 20 years. Also had numerous short term attachments to various bases and a trip up to PNG to help get some ex WW2 Boston Bombers out of the jungle. One is on display at the Air Mueseum at Amberley.
Then spent the next 20 odd years working as an Industrial Electrician in Industry, underground mining, Railway maintenance/construction (including 2 yrs FIFO of Katherine helping construct the Alice/Darwin Rail) and also Oil and Gas pipeline maintenance in Aust.,Spain, Scotland and Egypt. Never been unemployed and only 'snatched it' if I had something else to go to.
Retired to Kyneton Vic at 60 and am restoring a A3-59D Dodge and upgrading a 5 acre property. Since holidayed in Turkey and the USA and also had a fantastic trip on the Great Central Road.
