That is what the 'other old stuff' category was created for. If there was sufficient interest this may be split out into other categories (such as those you mentioned) in the future if the need arose

I realise the TOMM Forum has shut down. A couple of people here were members there (but maybe under a different handle).

It pays to remember the focus of our club (and therefore forum which it supports ) is Commercial Vehicles such as trucks, buses, utes, vans and their derivatives.

While that is our main focus a lot of us (but not everyone) are also interested in tractors, steam engines, railways, stationary motors etc. So even though I am interested in those areas I think the forum would lose its primary purpose if they took over the forum removing the focus from vehicles.

Please also remember that unlike the TOMM Forum which appears to have been run as part of their business this relies on 3 people to give up their time to help moderate it. This provides limitations to how complex we make the forum.

anyway lets play it by ear and see what develops

Actually I just checked the TOMM site, selected their Forum and saw this message

Thank you for being patient while the TOMM forum is closed.

The current situation is:
Circumstances around the immediate closure of our forum were, and still are out of our hands.
Please bear with us. We hope to be up and running in a few more days, possibly sooner.

So it looks like it may not have been shut down by choice but rather due to external factors (technical or non-technical? - we may never know and it doesn't really matter). It may pay to check the site every week or so until we see what happens

bparo,

Thanks for the update - I have to agree with you that they shut the TOMM forums due to a outside glitch!

Hi Guys , That message has only just appeared a short time ago. I went to the magazine home page and sent an email to ask what was going on with the forum as i would like to be able to contact the many people i had meet through the forum. I have not recieved a personal reply but that message then appeared . IT would have been nice if they had put some thing like that up as soon as it that happened to reassure forum members and not appear like chris carryed out his threat to close the forum. Hopefully life will get back to normal on the tomm site and we can all get back to doing what we do. ian.

Nice pair of trucks, Ian. What do you cart your engines on/in?

To each his own, Dave.
