Albion, believe it or not those rims are resin as well , stacks n shrouds are white styrene and the tanks are conduit, my secret? not really a secret, ant stuff I use is called Alclad, comes any way you want it really, I used chrome for the wheels and polished aluminium for the tanks.
the biggest secret to it working is the base coat, it needs to be the shiniest gloss back you can find, and again Alclad have gloss black base coat , just gota be super clean as anything in the base coat will show on the finished product, the tricky part is the top coat, you just gota dust it on at low pressure 15psi max, too little and the black shows through, to much and it loses its affect and just looks silver takes a bit of practice to get it right.
Easiest way to find Alclad is ebay, its pricey at $15 or so a bottle, but half the price of a hobby store, and it goes a hell of a long way if used right, for what you get in a bottle
hope that helps Andy

Hi andy950,
Appreciate your help to add to my knowledge.
Never had that much to do with 1/25 scale other than to help Bruce Mac with that single to duels thread we just done in model truck, so I very interested to learn as there is a special model 1/25 to come.
I mainly scale in 1/87 as I can store more in the space I have.
Though in May 1984 I scratch built a 1/8th scale Kenny in steel and though not a big picture made it to the model page of Truckin Life.
Can throw up a few pics if your interested.
Thanks for the heads up will do a search on ebay.
Thank you sincerly for the help mate.
3 beers for you [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]
