Hi,

I was driving through the Melbourne Market in Epping today and stopped to take a photo of this vehicle which looks a bit custom built, road registered but I suspect it never leaves the market and is operated by a company that provide unloading services at the market.

The badge shows it as a Dayworth.



Anyway just something different to all the ex-AustPost rigid trucks I normally see at the Market.

Were these jiggers originally imported directly from Canada in R/H guise?
Look similar to something running around Webb Dock in early seventies with Crummins L10 engines with Allison slosh boxes, exit door at back of cabin to get at air hoses and t/table on a 'scissor' type frame??

Known as a terminal tractor. Heavy duty but low powered prime mover designed for shunting trailers around.
