Here is another crop from a Jeff Bounds photo. I can't the make from the logo, let alone the model. Others will get both with ease, and possibly the operator too.

...Hi Rodders .. by all accounts it's a Kenworth S2 as evidenced by the 7'' headlights married to the narrow front grille...a peculiarity only seen on the later S2's if original....cheers mate :) :)

I have a rail-conversions thread in the historic truck chat, but that is for permanent conversions. This is a modern vehicle, with hirail equipment for use on railway tracks when needed. In this view, it is using its road tyres.
I placed a couple more at reply 108, but flickr has gone flaky.

Brazil has had a lot of standard types: Mercedes dominating, then Scania, Volvo, Iveco, some Ford, and surprisingly VW.
I tried to concentrate on unusual bonetted types.

Actually Rod, it would be much more surprising if VW trucks were not common in Brazil. They are manufactured there and VW have had a factory in Brazil for over 50 years.

Cheers, Vic

Here are two more trucks, including a VW, at busy Santos port (Brazil). Mon.15.9.14. The orange one is a mystery.

Thanks for that. Roughly what year would the Scania have been?
