A Big Red Mack was created by

For all you Mack fans.
I found this pic on the interweb thingy today.
As I have said before I know nothing about Macks, but I thought this one looked as if it had just about every thing fitted to it that is possible ?
The only really useful thing is the tyre pressure monitor system.
Does anyone use them in Oz ?
Cheers

Fair influence of Volvo there to me.
Plenty of Macks down here, Roland, but I can't say I've seen that design.
Use them - Macks or tyre pressure system?

Hi Andy,
Sorry I meant the pumper upper/downer unit.
The truck in the pic is in Brazil. I have seen the same system in Mexico, and I thought it was clever.
Is it used in Oz ?
Cheers

Yep, sure is, Roland. I most commonly see it on logging trucks.

Roland and Andy,
What those things on the wheels are is a centralised tyre inflation/deflation system - it is integrated into the airbag suspension and a display on the dash of the truck indicates tyre pressure!
Vigia is a big maker of this system - that brand is in use in Australia mainly in trailers with Dangerous Goods on or in them!

G'Day Joe,
I know what they are mate, I had them explained to me by a Mexican coach driver. His system was linked to a digital panel on the dashboard
and was used more for controlling the tyre pressures due to massive variations in daily Air Temperature, than for loading and traction purposes. Its just a item I had never seen until recently.
Right ... NOW GO AND BUY THE JUPITER !
How many more people do you want to tell you so ?
Cheers

I am sure you are right.
As I said I know sod'all about Macks, Kenworths,Accos and all the other stuff in Oz.
I'm on a bit of a learning curve.
I must admit I dont particularly like the look of the Red thing.
It looks like an Airfix kit.
Cheers

I agree . Its nasty... Very Nasty !!
To modify my 'Airfix Kit' comment :-
It looks like someone has taken several kits and tried to produce another model that uses as many parts from different kits as possible.
Then bought a job lot of Red paint, and combined this with the contents of a Custom Truck accessory store that was closing down.. ?
Yes I am going on a bit ..
Its a horrible creation, totally impractical as a working vehicle.
The mirrors and the aerials just make it even worse if possible.
But the tyre monitor system is good.
I am going to bed now !
Cheers
