Quad dog plus one

Quad dog plus one was created by fargo1
I was working beside the Newell Highway near West Wyalong when a truck and dog went past. The unusual thing about it was the dog had five axles. Are these a new combination or did I see something I wasn't supposed to ( maybe a road train tag trailer being moved. Wyalong being the drop off point for road trains). If it was legal what would the combinations gross weight be. And what is it called, a quin dog??

They have been around for quite a few years over here on the Left Coast of Oz. Either behind a rigid truck or behind a semi (to make a pocket road train).
Have seen a few with a tri axle dolly - to make a 6 axle dog.
Cheers, Neil

Yep. That's it. That's the first one I've seen so there can't be many around here. Thanks Greenie

They use them up here in North Queensland to cart sugar. Apparently the rego is cheaper for a rigid and really big dog as opposed to a prime mover and trailers.

There is a few of the 5 axle dogs running in SA under PBS . Cartage Australia had 3 of there 6 axle dogs running from Mt Compass to Croyden SA carting sand to the glass works there .Talking to one of the drivers and he told me that he had a car park neatly between the truck and the dog changing lanes . There is a bloke that brings a 5 axle dog from Tamworth over to work harvest around Snowtown each year .
